ABOUT THE CLIENT
One of the distribution centers of the largest full-cycle meat processing enterprise in Belarus and a leader among suppliers of home-produced meat products. Works with all formats of retail facilities: hypermarkets, national and local chains, traditional retail.
Delivery zones – Vitebsk and Minsk regions, Minsk city. Delivery is carried out by hired transport.
FIRST TOUCH – “WITHOUT EXTRA BODY MOVEMENTS”
The first meeting, which had been planned for a long time, brought INFINIUM employees together with a person who had worked at the company for 2 months and generally still had little idea of the need for some kind of optimization systems, as well as the need for process automation. The distribution along the routes was somehow carried out, no special need was considered, they didn’t want unnecessary gestures, they didn’t see or understand the possibility of savings. In short, already at the first touch it became clear that I would have to break through a blank wall that had been building for years.
SECOND TOUCH – “THE RIGHT DOOR”
After the first touch, it became obvious that everyone has their own area of responsibility with their own familiar pains and understanding of how to treat them. No one wanted to try something new, face immersion in third-party technologies, or disrupt established processes. But everything fails at some point – the need for optimization has become acute and tangible.
The second contact took place with those who understood that without adjustment and automation it was possible to continue working only at a loss. It was decided to introduce INFINIUM LOGIMUS to the client for a test period, to give the client the opportunity to “play around” himself, to feel the difference on his own. And already during this period, the effectiveness was proven on a typical period with all the inputs – the number of vehicles, the number of delivery points, the volume of cargo, etc.
SAVING RESULTS IN JUST A WEEK
The results of the test period determined further work with the client in full.
CHALLENGES INFINIUM LOGIMUS’ TEAM FACED WITH
One of the main objectives was to reduce the costs of organizing product delivery by optimizing transport and logistics processes. And also solving the problem of the labor-intensive process of planning delivery routes, which was carried out on a one-day/two-day trip.
When choosing a suitable solution for managing delivery routes, INFINIUM employees set a goal to competently organize:
▶ Automatic planning of delivery routes in the Vitebsk and Minsk regions, as well as in the city of Minsk
▶ Optimization of traffic routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations at minimal cost
▶ Minimizing the amount of manual operations when planning routes
▶ Carrying out delivery/acceptance of products at points in accordance with a certain time (falling into time windows)
▶ Creation of a directory of points taking into account and indicating the time of delivery at these points with an average value
▶ Integration with the customer’s 1C
▶ Full simultaneous work of the company’s logisticians
▶ Complete analytics of all stages of delivery
▶ Loading vehicles according to their carrying capacity
▶ Saving units of hired transport used and reducing vehicle kilometers
▶ Organization of full control of the movement of hired transport during the delivery of products
IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS AT MAXIMUM RATE
As a result of route optimization, costs were significantly reduced and the quality of service was improved, and the optimal number of orders was completed, provided that all client requirements were met.
During the implementation of the system, additional functions were developed that made it possible to make fine-grained adjustments to drivers’ routes. To do this, the LOGIMUS system took into account data on the road network, including traffic speed at different times of the day in different areas, the duration of unloading at each point (including, depending on the number of positions for unloading) and other parameters.
The implemented solutions made it possible for logisticians to predict how long it would take to deliver a certain number of orders and optimally load transport, building a route automatically carried out in real conditions using tools of the INFINIUM LOGIMUS platform.
CONCLUSION IN SIMPLE WORDS
Any company can “suffer” from established and once proven processes that are protected by their own employees, but which have already lost their relevance and effectiveness. Moreover, this applies to both the client and the company that provides its solutions.
No matter how good a product or service is, it must be in the right hands, heard by the right people, tested by those who can see future benefits and savings.
It is through the description of overcoming such barriers that the INFINIUM LOGIMUS platform demonstrates its expertise in solving not only savings problems, but also in building correct and understandable communication with the client.
